Practice and Patients Charter
All members of the team are dedicated to providing the patients with a continuous quality of service to achieve the best medical care which meets with patient requirements.
The Charter also means that Patients have responsibilities to the surgery in being courteous to all members of staff. Patients should understand that if they need to cancel or cannot attend on time and do not inform us then this also inconvenience other patients.
The NHS Constitution also includes information that is relevant to patient care – download the NHS Constitution.
We fully accept that when people are unwell and possibly anxious they may be more short-tempered than usual. However, there is no reason why our dedicated and loyal staff should tolerate unprovoked blatant rudeness, aggressiveness and unreasonable demands.
The policy (which is now common within the NHS) is designed to protect the GPs and staff at Old Hall Surgery from the minority of patients who are constantly rude, aggressive and demanding.
We shall have no hesitation in removing patients from our lists who cannot demonstrate good manners and reasonable behaviour to all members of the Old Hall Surgery team.
