Our practice is a training practice, training doctors who wish to become GPs, and who work with us for a period before entering General Practice. Both Dr Birch and Dr Phipps are registered trainers.

We offer a number of services run by staff who work from our surgery:

Health Visitor Helps mothers with young children, but it is pleased to help all ages. They can be contacted on 0151 355 2168
District NurseLooks after patients at home and will visit on the request of a Doctor
Dressing ClinicHeld Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4.00pm at Ellesmere Port Hospital.for patients who require dressings or suture removal.
For an appointment please ring 0779 964 3247. Outside these times can you can leave a message on the answer machine and the clinic will phone you back.
Midwife All ante natal care is provided by the midwife and patients will be seen at the local children’s centre’s convenient to their home address. You do not need to see a Doctor before booking in to the Antenatal Clinic. Ask at reception for a booking pack and your midwife will contact you directly. The midwife is based at the Countess of Chester Hospital, please call 01244 365166.
Phelbotomy
Blood tests
If you require a blood test, the phlebotomist attends the surgery at the following times:
Mon, Tues, Fri: 11.30-12.30, Wed and Thu: 8.30-9.30.
Ask at reception for an appointment.
Smoking Cessation Clinic If you need help with giving up smoking we hold weekly 'stop smoking' support clinics. Help can be in various forms such as patches, nicotine replacement gum and support. Ask at reception for an appointment. There is no need to see a Doctor.
Counsellor We have counsellors working as part of our team and they can help with stress management, bereavement and other conditions. Please see your Doctor for referral to this service.
